I haven’t yet come across a family in pakistan who doesn’t have a similar problem and fights like this in their own homes and this is exactly what our dramas are depicting. A time for restraint. What wonderful dramas PTV used to make. You totally forgot the fact that Dhuwan was one of the top rated Pakistani drama. What about Karwaan caravan starring Huma Akbar I believe? Dissenting voices within a party are different from dissenting voices in a government. No Iphones, no ipads, Rs. Ankahi and Tanhaiyan were Superb and there was one more I think Ana.

It will be interesting to see viewers from Lahore, Rawalpindi, Peshawar or Quetta put forth their top 10 and rank them I was told that PTV does not even have print of the original version and it had to be re-shot with different cast to re-telecast. The list of Pakistani top dramas will be incomplete with out Ashfaq Ahmed’s classic dramas! I see all this happy nostalgia and longing for the old Pakistan. For me the TV dramas ‘angan teraha’ and ‘taleem-e-baslighan’ are exceptionally good. The disaster of Tanhaiyan: I feel kinda nostalgic as the title music still ring bells in my ears.

A true masterpiece written by the comedy king Kh.

Calling it lightweight stuff tells me you were probably never good at watching any of them. This a very incomplete list.

Its all gone man. The television transmission started in if I’m not mistaken hence the drama could not have been aired in No questions about the above list, however, Angan Tehra should have been in this list as well, maybe in place of Parchaiyan. Dhuwan and Sunehray Din are missing but Where is Episoe Pura?

AAGHOSH EP 1 – video dailymotion

Sam I completely agree with you on Samunder, in which Mehboob Alam again proved himself as the center of attention. After 27 years of not getting enough of Tanhaiyana sequel named Tanhaiyan: Classic memories with PTV. Story at his best, acting at his best. Which was a children’s drama and was never aired at prime time slot I watched it in but the story and the characters are aghossh relevant to the our present environment. Good old days, and thank you Zia for taking away that Pakistan and giving the present Pakistan to it’s present generation.

A rerun of some of these on International Channels would be highly appreciated by drzma older as well as the present generations, and enable the Pakistani as also the Indian communities living abroad to understand each others’ cultures and ways of life which are common in many ways so that there is more cordiality and congeniality among them henceforth.

Agreed draam above ALL Dear reader, online ads enable us to deliver the journalism you value. And also that this list should’nt be complete without Bano Qudsia’s plays. Mehboob Alam acting was too brilliant. Although a comedy, Alif Noon dealt with serious issues such as fraud, scam and cheating, among others, in Pakistani society. Naye Silsilay can be forgiven by the viewers, if they attempt a proper remake of the sequel. For me the TV dramas ‘angan teraha’ and ‘taleem-e-baslighan’ are exceptionally good.

There should fpisode more in the list Rozi, Half Plate, chand-girhan etc etc. In India we loved these programmes as there was nothing comparable made in India.

It will be interesting to see viewers from Lahore, Rawalpindi, Peshawar or Quetta put forth their top crama and rank them Best days of my Life. Superb acting, superb dialogues. I still watch them at least once very six months, thanks to YouTube.

I just would like to add “Dhuwan” in this list too!!! No Iphones, no ipads, Rs. The confidence and maturity that she brings to her acting is unmatched. The Annual Status of Education Report An-kahi tops the list though, amazing script, phenomenal script!!!

Aagosh Classical PTV Drama Serial – Part 1/12

xghosh I saw both and the new version was nowhere dfama to the original in performances. I was in University at the time of Dhoop Kinarey drrama there used to be no epissode to sit in the hostel common room when this drama was aired. These dramas were legend and all actors of these dramas are legends. No “uncle Urfi” in the list. However, it is a welcome opportunity for nostalgia. The flash back my child hood and teen reminded me the eagerness to wait for the favorite play throughout the week.

Old but not forgotten: Personally, would have placed Sunehray Din instead of Ainak wala jin. Kiya yaad kara diya wah! Ruhi Bano and Shakeel. Such a shame that no such programmes are made in Pakistan anymore. To top that, Khuda ki Basti was also introduced on the syllabi of drama academies in Pune, India and around Europe. It would be great injustice not to mention it here. Prime Minister Khan responds to Modi. What about Karwaan caravan starring Huma Akbar I believe?

Equally liked in India.
